MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The World Series champion Milwaukee Brewers added two more trophies on Sunday night, when Brice Turang, their second baseman, and Jackson Chourio, their left fielder, were each named a National League Gold Glove winner.

For Turang, it is a second Gold Glove. He also won in 2024, the year he took the Platinum Glove as the league’s best defender at any position. He is still the lone Brewers second baseman ever to win the award and no other Milwaukee infielder has won one since the franchise joined the NL in 1998.

Turang played 151 games at second this season, 148 of them as a starter, and committed only five errors, a career low, in 593 chances for a .992 fielding percentage. His 219 putouts were the most in the National League, and no second baseman in the majors turned more than his 91 double plays. His 23 Defensive Runs Saved ranked second in all of baseball, trailing only Wilyer Abreu with 28.

Chourio, 22, picked up the first Gold Glove of his three seasons in the majors. He topped every NL left fielder with 13 Defensive Runs Saved. Across 123 games in left, 112 of them starts, he caught every one of the 199 fly balls and line drives hit his way and threw out eight runners. His win ended a five-year hold on the left field award by Ian Happ of the Chicago Cubs.

Managers and coaches cast 75 percent of the Gold Glove vote, and they cannot pick players from their own team. The other 25 percent comes from the sabermetrics community. The award dates to 1957.

Both Brewers are now in the running for the NL Platinum Glove, which is set to be announced Friday.
